Niche Marketing Secrets

“I can’t sell information products online anymore. It’s saturated.”

Have you heard that said?

Actually, it’s common to hear that.

Yeah sure … It is somewhat true if you want to sell another ebook about sales copywriting and compete with the veteran copywriters!

But you know what — EVERYDAY, many people are laughing all the way to the bank from making sales of info-products.

You see, they are smart. They don’t sell another ‘Harry Potter’ or ‘How To Make Money’ ebook when they want to start their online info-product business. They sell info-products in a niche market.

You don’t believe me?

Just go to Clickbank.com.

You’ll find all kinds of info-products that you would never have imagined that people are selling and making money out of!

Here are a few examples:

* An ebook info-product about Ipod MP3 players
* An ebook on how to do magic tricks
* An ebook on how to improve golf swings
* An ebook on how to improve your volley ball game
* An ebook about tropical fish
* An ebook about training Boxer Dog

In a nutshell, I can give you 101 examples how these can all be home run, profitable products on the internet.

The market for info-products will never be saturated if you know how to sell in a niche market.

To be frank with you, I know it works because I have one of these sites that is making money for me while I sleep.

In fact, you may be surprised to find out that some of these sites in Clickbank are actually mine!

Why niche marketing?

Niche marketing can be very profitable because you won’t be competing with Internet gurus (They are busy with their own ‘How To’ niche) and your info-product can be highly ‘targeted’ to the prospects. For instance, someone who wants to start raising tropical fish at home, might order “Tropical Fish Secrets”, which is an ebook in Clickbank.

And the best part is, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to start an online niche business in less than a month!

Simple plan:

i. Get a niche info-product
ii. Start a website
iii. Drive traffic to it

Of course, there is more to it than that, but by just by doing that… you should be able to start making money in an online niche market.

How Walt Disney Got His Bankers to Believe

Just wanted to share a great story
that Mike Vance, Walt’s head of creative
thinking at the Disney Corporation shared.

Here’s the story:

Walt Disney went to the bank and told
them he wanted this HUGE LINE of credit.

When they asked him what he was going
to do with all that money…

Walt told them:

“I’m going to buy this giant swamp in
the middle of Florida”.

The bankers were a bit puzzled and then
asked him what he was going to do with
all that useless swampland.

Walt answered:

“I’m going to build a castle right in the
middle of the swamp”.

The bankers then asked:

And what are you going to do with a castle
in the middle of the swamp?

Walt replied:

“I’m going to put a mouse in the castle
and he’s going to live there with all his pals.”

What happens then?  the bankers asked.

Walt then said:

“Well, once I get the castle built and
the mouse has moved into the castle, people
are going to come from all over the world and
they’re going to bring buckets of money
with them.”

And then? the bankers demanded.

Walt answered,

“Well then the people are going to take
the buckets of money into the castle and
they are going to give it to the mouse.”

The bankers asked That’s it?

Pretty much replied Walt.

And just exactly how big a line of credit
are you going to need? asked the bankers.

Walt said “Oh…we’re going to need a big one”

And that was it.  Four years later Disney
World opened it’s doors to the world and the
rest is history.

I hope you enjoyed this story and the lesson
here is to dream of your castle and take action.

Today, you don’t need a line of credit.

You just need a great system and a model to
follow.

Paul The Octopus?

Paul The Octopus is HOT!

Paul The Octopus

Actually Paul the octopus has nothing to do with my marketing blog, but I want to share something with you that it might give you some ideas on driving traffic, get ranked in search engine and email marketing.

While the World Cup 2010 is still playing and Paul the octopus is still hot during that time, I received other internet marketer promotion email. Guess what? The guy using Paul the octopus name in the email subject and the email content has nothing to do with Paul the octopus.

When I received the marketer email with that subject, I open it immediately because I want to know what’s inside. BANG! The email content has nothing to do with Paul the octopus. (smile)

I believe the email open rate will be VERY HIGH with the trick subject. This is one of a good tactic that skyrocket your email open rate. BUT you have to be careful when using this tactic. If you do it wrongly, you will get bad effect.

If you’re using the email subject that do not relate to your message, make sure you explain the reason or talk about your subject in your message at first, before start your real message.

Example: If you’re using Paul the octopus in your email subject like “Paul the octopus is now retired” and your message is promote a PLR product. Then you have to start your message with something like …

“World Cup 2010 is finally over.  It makes Paul the octopus become a superstar as well but Paul the octopus is going to retired.”

You can come out with other story as long as you talk about your email subject first.

If you always use the trick email subject and never talk about that email subject in your message, sooner later your subscribers will not open your email again.

This trick also can be applied with your website or blog. Your blog post can start with the hot topic first, and then only your real content. This mean you talk a little bit about the hot topic 2-3 sentences, then only start your real content.

Your blog or website will get indexed faster and also get free traffic from the search engine. The reason is simple, there are SO MANY people searching for the HOT TOPIC.

However, those are not targeted traffic, but since it’s FREE,  why not?

Remember, apply the trick carefully so you won’t get bad effect in return.

Online Business Or Make Money Online?

Many people never realize that they have mixed up the Online Business and Make Money Online.

Online Businessis a real business like offline business. You need to take care your customers and business. There’s no such thing work for 3 days and rest for a month in the business. I believe your clients will run away if they know you’re not doing a real business. They’re just afraid that you get the money and disappear for a month and they can’t get any help. If you’re doing this, you’re going to out of the business soon.

Make Money Online? You might heard it many times and see many advertisement regarding this. Make Money Online is different. You don’t have any commitment.

You make some money, and disappeared. That’s how most people make money online. They promote something and make some money that enough for the vacation, they will rest for a month for holiday. There’s no right or wrong with this. Because you help other to get sales and you split the profit. They will handle the customer service and everything. So you can go on holiday for a month even doesn’t matter. (smile)

However, if you’re a freelancer. You cannot have the make money online habit. Freelancer has to take it as a business but at least a small business. When you get the project, make sure you have completed them and your client is satisfied before you leave.

I personally work with several freelancers for the last few months. Only 2 freelancers take it as a business and working seriously. The rest of them took it like a part time job. They online or reply your email when they’re happy. When the project comes to the deadline, they never reply your email until you warning them. (I hate the most)

They will give you bad reason why they’re not replying your email, like pc crash, emergency thing happen, not receive the email or sick. If it happen the first time, that’s ok – I can understand that. But it used to be like that. They happy, they reply your email after a few days. Email delivery just take a few seconds, but it end up like sending me a postal mail. Until they have no other reason to give, they just reply really sorry for the late reply. SUCK!

Even though they offer cheaper fee, I won’t be using them anymore in the future.

It’s the same case when you’re selling online. Your clients buying your product, but somehow they have problem with the product. They will contact you for help. Clients will expect you reply their email within 2 business days. If not, you will out of the business soon. What they’re thinking is, you’re not doing real business. Where have you been for the last 2 days? You get my money and went on holiday? (Just kidding!)

Usually when I buy a product online, I will try to contact their support first. If they’re in a real business, they will reply your email within 2 business days. Some company even respond within 24 hours. That’s cool and I feel safe!

What is best for Make Money Online?
1. Google Adsense, blogging to earn advertisement money.
2. Affiliate Marketing, promote other people product for a commission.

What is best for Online Business?
1. Selling products
2. Offer services like writing articles, designing graphic and etc.

You could agree or not with me the article above. It’s just my personal thought and experience but I hope it will give you some ideas of the internet marketing stuff and happening.

Personal Note:I know there are many grammar mistakes in my english and it has already known as common in some forum about my poor english. I admit that I’m not good at grammar but I just don’t want to get someone writing the post because it will not 100% stuff you will read. What you read here is truly written by me from my experience without polish by any writer. But of course, when come to selling product online, I will hire expert writer to polish all my salesletter and content. (smile)

Feel free to leave your comment and feedback.

Thank you!

How To Make Money From Passions

To make money online, many people jump right in before they are properly prepared. You know that to be a rocket scientist, a doctor, a brick layer, a construction worker, an office worker, a teacher there are prerequisites, things you must learn, before you can be successful, you don’t just jump right in unprepared.

The same applies to the Internet marketing industry even though there are unsavory people out there who’d have you believe it’s a “Walk in the Park” and requires no more than the belief that you can just do it.

And I’ll have to admit, it is a walk in the park compared to what you have to put up with in the working world punching a clock being a subordinate to someone who does not have your interests in mind, but there are still rules you have to follow and pitfalls you must avoid to actually make Internet marketing work for you.

Most people will not make a dime online and yet there are others who will make more in one month than most people make in a whole year. Why is that?

My answer begins with the age-old chicken or egg question, “what comes first the chicken or the egg”? Personally I vote for, well never mind, each argument you or I make comes back to the same old conclusion – I have no clue and I don’t think many of us do either.

But one thing I do have a clue about and know for sure is that to make money online you must first have Passion for the company products and/or service of any Internet business from which you expect to make money.

Passion in this sense simply means that you’ve researched and like the company and products or services. It is then that you translate that like (or Passion) into the education, excitement and work that usually accompany Passion.

I will have to say that many online entrepreneurs are so good at what they do that they ignore passion because they can sell anything. But I’m concerned about those of you who are not so knowledgeable at working an online business successfully.

Now, I’m not trying to make anyone believe that Passion is the only thing necessary. Because to be successful you must also have a good website, good marketing, widespread advertising, company support, effective keywords, and etc. Those things are often learned from the company you join – but sidestep Passion and you reduce your chances for success dramatically.

It therefore follows that, if you have no Passion for the company and the products and services provided by that company, again, you won’t attempt to do the work you are being taught.

Internet marketing work is typically not all that difficult or time consuming but it does take motivation caused by Passion to get you off and running with a sustained effort so that you won’t stumble.

You have a great resource in the Internet search engines to search about the Internet Marketing industry for business opportunities, USE IT!

Your research should uncover a company that you like and have confidence in. It should be solid, founded on great principles, and easy to understand with great products and services that are sell-able for which you can have Passion. If you don’t find it move on, You can find the right opportunity containing the attributes identified above.

Comments like, well, that one sounds good and the compensation plan is excellent so I guess I’ll start that business – does not sound like a decision based on anything near Passion. And remember when you hear that an Internet “guru” does that, don’t be tempted, because as I said earlier they are experienced and can sell just about anything, without being Passionate about the company products and services.

Note: By the way it’s your goal to get to the point where you can sell about anything online. That end skill and goal is a worthy one indeed.

Remember, there are other steps you must make before you step into Internet Marketing but if you don’t first find the right company products and services to be passionate about, all of those other steps may just cause you a lot of frustration instead of bringing you great success.

Not being Passionate about a company and products and services that has market proof that it will sell is a pitfall you simply must avoid.

Don’t Sell Product But Offer Solution

Every newbie sales person will go through the same experience when just started to sell something. I still remembered when I just dropped off the secondary school and joined a company that do not pay any basic salary (just rely on commission) job. That was my first JOB.

My job was selling the English courses. I didn’t just sit in the office and wait for customer to walk in but went to the shopping mall to get leads, put the brochure into residents’ mailbox, telemarketing, sometimes even went to the car park to put our brochure on the car windscreen, and door to door cold calling.

I was SUCK at presentation and never convert well.

The main problem is that I used to talk about the product. This is a HUGE mistake! But I was a newbie at that time.

Today, I met a sales person approached me to sign up his product. When he started the presentation, he has already talking about the product without asking me any questions. He just keep on explaining the product just like a video presentation. After finished the presentation, he asked “What do you think about this product?”. I felt that the question is trying to ask me if I’m going to sign up.

When I looked at him, I just like saw the 6 years ago of myself. He did the same mistakes like I did last time.

Before he start the presentation, he suppose to ask questions (to collect data) first. At the same time, ask trick questions that able to find the customer problems. When you know there’s something missing in the customer life, then it’s the time to start presentation to show your “SOLUTION”.

People don’t take medicine if they don’t sick. People don’t eat if they’re not hungry. People playing games because they want to have fun. People buy calculator because they want to speed up the calculation work.

Ask your customer if they want to make their life easier and better. Make sure your product solve their problem or make their life better. Women buy cosmetic because they want to look better. People apply perfume because they want to get more attractive.

Your product either solve problem or make thing better.

1. Find out the customer problem or situation.
2. Ask the customer if he/she want to solve the problem or make their life better.
3. Present your product and explain how it work for them.

Tips: Only start presentation when the customer get interested.

Thank you!

The Aura of Legitimacy

(This article is written by me personally without proofreading and English is not my mother language, so you might find a lot grammar mistakes)

Business Strategy: The aura of legitimacy – Increasing Your Product Value At No Cost

Dealing with honesty and customer get what they pay for. (But they’re crazy to buy what you offer)

There are several different way to use this strategy. Although the method a bit different but it deliver the same result.

Example #1: Clothing Store

J&J selling their own design clothes and price range from $100-$200. When come to Sale Season, they can only give 10%-20% discount to all their clothes because their clothes are produced in high quality and by their own professional designer. They will make lost if they give 50%-70% discount.

But there’s a trick to give 50%-70% discount. They will buy other design clothes from other company and put their brand J&J on the clothes to claim as their own design. This is something like pay for private label. Consumer will never know this and won’t care about it because most consumers just want to buy the ‘brand’.

The ‘private label’ clothes are normal quality BUT they cannot sell below $100 because this will affect their own brand value. They also cannot sell for $100 above because the quality is not worth that much (If you’re selling overprice, this mean you’re cheating your customers). In order to make both balance, they decided to price the ‘private label’ clothes for $130 and give 60% discount. This way, they didn’t lower their brand value and also increase more sales.

Think about this, the consumers just can’t resist that the cloth price range from $100-$200 and now give 60% discount. So consumers will think this is a BEST DEAL.

This is a WIN-WIN business. The seller still remain their brand value, increase more sales and making good profits with the ‘private label’ product. The consumers are happy and they get what they’re paying for.

Example #2: Coffee

Big size and small size coffee are almost/ nearly the same costing for seller. The different is on the cup, it looks bigger. The rental, electrical and staffs all are fixed costing. Whether you have a good business or not, you still pay the same rental fee. If you can increase your sales, then you can lower your costing and increase profits.

When you order a small size coffee, the cashier will tell you that you can get the medium size by adding a dollar. Think about this, just one dollar you can get a bigger size. Great deal.

People who is doing restaurant business will know that adding extra won’t effect the costing. Use the bigger size of cup, adding extra coffee in it and it will look bigger a lot than the small size.

Same strategy also been using in Popcorn business. You buy a normal size of box popcorn for $8 and you get bigger size by adding extra $2 dollar, and the bigger box look bigger a lot than the small box. Seller make extra profits and buyer get better deal. This is also WIN-WIN deal.

The Easiest Method To Include An Up-sell

Amazon does it, EBAY does it, so why can’t you?

After all, up-selling is a technique employed by leading e-commerce sites to boost their sales and though you may be some light years away from them, this could be used by you effectively too. And though this is a technique, there is not a lot different from up-selling and selling by themselves!

There are many ways you could up-sell a product, but before we get into knowing the easiest method, know that an up-sell is a product you wish to sell immediately after he has bought the first one. Needless to say, the second product or the product to be up-sold has to be related to the first product bought by the customer.

To the point – The easiest method to up-sell is to work on the ‘checkout’ page!

What you can do with the Checkout Page?

I’m not asking you to redesign the entire webpage. Follow this process to uncover the easiest method to up-sell.

First, identify your webpage which you want to include the upsell. It could be your product page, salesletter page, your newsletter subscription page, your thank you page and so on.

Then just add an option for them to include MORE products before they ‘checkout’.

So if it’s a newsletter subscription page, ask them if they want to include a free trial offer to your other paid product before they click “Register” on your newsletter page.

If your page is a salesletter webpage, give them an option to include another of your product before they click the “Order Now” button.

Here’s another example – if your webpage is a shopping cart, you can always ‘upsell’ your prospects for them to add more quantity of the product that they’re buying.

The list goes on.

Here are some things you would like to watch out for while up-selling:

==>  The product you up-sell needs to be somewhat related to the product the customer bought. The closer the correlation, the better it is for you because you’ll get more sales.

==>  Write your up-selling ad as carefully and diligently as you would have designed your sales ad. Just the fact that the customer bought one product from you doesn’t mean he is sure to buy another!

==>  Up-sell but don’t push – Pushing is bad for any form of selling and the same applies in up-selling too. Inform the
customer about your product and leave the choice to him. Also, bear in mind that you’re adding more value to your customer by offering greater solutions to them in your upsell products.

The method to up-sell your product is not as tough as you would have thought it to be. Basically, if you’re not integrating any upsell in your sales funnel, you’re literally losing money.

It’ll cost you more time, effort and money to acquire a new customer compare to selling to an existing customer who already trust you and like your product.

Although the technicalities surrounding the deal make it a slightly tough nut to crack, but I can tell you that it’s worth your time to explore this powerful marketing strategy.
